Librarians have a central role to play in supporting their communities to find safe and trustworthy information – they are trusted pillars of their communities, have a long history of teaching information literacy, and work with a range of community members. However, many of our library partners tell us that they need help keeping up with the constant changes in technologies and information practices. 

Information literacy requires a much broader approach currently than in the past, from understanding complex digital landscapes to teaching about the emotional and psychological factors that influence our vulnerability to untrustworthy information.

At Co-Designing for Trust, our team of library staff and researchers are working to create resources needed to keep up with the latest trends in teaching about digital literacy. We are working to create interventions tailored to local library contexts, including teaching guides, online quizzes, in-library displays, library programming, and more.
